Futurebuild — Sustainable Construction Event
Futurebuild — Sustainable Construction Event 2027 is a UK’s Built Environment Super Event held from May 11–13, 2027, at ExCeL London (Halls N1, N3, N4), London, United Kingdom. The event is organised by Futurebuild Events Ltd and runs over three days, aiming to connect specification with innovation within the construction sector. In a previous edition held from May 12–14, Futurebuild was co-located with UK Construction Week London and The Stone & Surfaces Show, marking the first time these events came together at ExCeL London.
A central component of Futurebuild is its Knowledge Programme. This programme sits alongside the co-located events and functions as a platform for insights, innovation, and collaboration within the built environment. It features a combined total of over 700 speakers across 14 stages, delivering more than 250 hours of CPD-accredited content. The sessions presented are curated by over 90 industry partners and associations. The programme is designed to provide knowledge and connections that drive change within the sector.
The event primarily focuses on the sustainable built environment, with an emphasis on driving real change and developing solutions for a net-zero future. It addresses topics such as retrofit at scale and fosters innovation through initiatives like the 'Big retrofit challenge'. Futurebuild is described as actively seeking out and bringing together young innovative companies and innovators into one space. It serves a targeted B2B audience, including buyers, and facilitates conversations with professionals such as architects, designers, specifiers, and end clients within the construction industry. The event aims to enable businesses to connect with their audience effectively.
Past editions of Futurebuild have showcased a diverse range of exhibitors and organisations from the industry. Notably, the Modular & Portable Building Association Ltd has exhibited, also hosting a Net Zero Research Village (NeRV). The Retrofit Academy has participated in the event for four consecutive years, advocating for skills, standards, and solutions pertinent to a net-zero future. Other past exhibitors have included companies specialising in sustainable building products, energy solutions, water management, and insulation or thermal bridging solutions. The exhibition floor has also featured developers of smart technology and software for construction, alongside producers of various construction materials. Industry associations and institutions have also been represented, providing a platform for sharing information and good practice.
